COVID-19 TIMES: Wow, what a weird time to be alive, am I right? One minute you're in the middle of a second Off-Broadway run of Shenanigans: Irish Celebration with Funikijam at The Actors Temple, the next minute you will never return to that theater again (it's closed for good, so I hear.) Unsure of how long the lockdown will last/hilariously confidant this will be over in two months, I decided that since I just resigned my lease, I would stay in NYC and do what I could to be a helper. For me, this meant signing up through the catering company I work for to pack-up and deliver boxes of food for the elderly of NYC through the GetFoodNYC program. The work involved many months of commuting to a warehouse in the Bronx, some days were inspiring, but more often than not, it was a sobering spotlight on the inequalities that exist in our society. This led to many tough conversations with myself as I continued to question what sort of life I want to have and what I want to contribute.
I can't say that after a year later I have it totally figured out yet, but I've begun taking some classes at Hunter College in developmental psychology and want to see what's out there, so eventually I can build a parallel career to pursue alongside the acting and music. So, hello Chem 100 and Psych 180! Nothing like trying to re-start college in the middle of a pandemic. What a time to be alive.
January 2020: New year, new project, more Shakespeare; joining the cast of As You Like It with Match: Lit, directed by the inspiring Laurel Anderson! Performances begin February 13th at the Access Theatre Gallery.
May 2019: Contracts are signed and sent off, so I'm so excited to announce that in a few months I'll be playing an absolute dream role of Laura in The Glass Menagerie at Mill Mountain Theatre! I can not wait to dive into this heartbreaking play, running September 25-October 6.
March 2019: Just finished up a very fun run of Shenanigans: Irish Celebration with Funikijam, NYC's Off-Broadway early childhood education and entertainment company. I had a blast sharing my love of Irish music with the kids, just in time for St. Patrick's Day!
